The Dental Assisting Career Studies Certificate program provides students the opportunity to learn about dental instruments, dental materials, exposing radiographs, sterilization and disinfection, and assisting patients. Dental Assisting students obtain both medical and administrative skills essential to working in the dental profession. In addition, the students learn about communication and interaction with other health professionals as well as patients.
Dental assistants work with dentists and dental hygienists to provide care to patients. Most dental assistants work full-time, standard schedules, but part-time work is also available.
Admission to the Career Studies Certificate program is based upon the general requirements for admission to the college.
